The Silverado HD has a standard 401-horsepower 6.6-liter V8 engine that produces 464 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Critics also found that the Silverado HD had sloppy steering. The Silverado HD can tow up to 36,000 pounds and has a maximum payload of 7,442 pounds when properly equipped.
